Frozen Head State Park I found a total of 13 male Cerulean Warblers late
afternoon of April 12th and during most of the day on the 13th.
Royal Blue WMA - I found 21 Ceruleans in the morning of April 14th

April 12, 2011
Frozen Head S.P., Tower Road 1750 ft elev
The two Ceruleans was in a flock:
2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets
2 Yellow-throated Vireo
2 Red-eyed Vireo
2 Blue-headed Vireo
3 Blackburnian Warblers (including one female)
5 Black-throated Green Warblers
2 American Redstart
1 Palm Warbler
3 Black-and-white Warblers (including one female)
2 Cerulean Warbler

April 13, 2011
Frozen Head S. P., North Old Mac to South Old Mac Trails
12 singing male Cerulean Warblers.
All could have been "on territory"
Also:
5 Scarlet Tanagers in one tree
1 Wood Thrush
(Dave Engebredtson, the manager, said that he had at least 6 Ceruleans at
the top of Panther Branch on the 12th.)

April 14, 2011
Royal Blue (North Cumberland WMA)
Turley Mountain, Cross Mountain, Brushy Mountain
I drove a survey route that I established last year with stops every 250
meters and found 21 singing male Cerulean Warblers.
Most were at survey stops, others I heard along the way.
Only 2 appeared to be in flocks; all others could have been on territory.
I haven't had time to compare results from today with last year's breeding
bird numbers.

I'm surprised how many birds appear to be on territory at elevations over
2,000 feet - the only females that I'm seeing are vireos and Black-throated
Green Warblers.
"On territory"
Black-throated Green Warbler
Blackburnian
American Redstart
Hooded Warbler
Ovenbird
Black-and-white Warbler
1 Wood Thrush
1 Summer Tanager FOS

And one Bobcat running across the road
