McKenzie area (Carroll Co.) 5/5/03 On the way home from a very eventful night of work in Jackson, I had a flyby Mississippi Kite in the Obion River bottom near McKenzie. This bird is likely a product of the severe series of storms that blew through the area overnight, although I've had a few in the spring and early summer in Carroll, Henry, and Weakley counties over the last few years that weren't weather related. This graceful raptor always brings a smile to my face, especially away from its normal haunts near the Mississippi River. Good birding!!!!!!
