Melton Lake, Oak Ridge, Anderson , TN. Friday 13th Sept am
Highlight from the Greenway beside the lake this morning was an adult
Bald Eagle chasing an Osprey which dropped its prey into the water. The
eagle plunged in then seemed to struggle to get out, finally clambering
onto a submerged branch.
Other birds included :
Osprey (possibly a second bird later)
Gt Blue Heron 4
DC Cormorant 21
Killdeer 2
The water level was slightly down, but the exposed mud revealed no birds.
