Birded Louisville Point Park in Blount County, TN from noon until 2 pm today and found my first of the season Horned Grebes (2) and Bonaparte's Gulls (5). Strange, I've yet to see a Ring-billed Gull in Tennessee this fall but I'll take the Bonaparte's any day. Other birds of interest include 2 Dark-eyed Juncos, a Pine Warbler, a flock of Red-Winged Blackbirds high in the pines (no adult males seen) and a couple of the resident Brown-headed Nuthatches.
