Hello all, Charlie and I again saw the LINCOLN'S SPARROW below our feeder this morning. It's now been here a little over 2 weeks. We have not seen it every day, but many days of late we haven't been home during daylight hours. Any birders in the area are welcome to come take a peak (whether or not we're home). The feeders are in the back of the house--it prefers in front of the carport between the two sheds. Take a seat at the "patio" furniture and wait. The address is 2632 Montvale Rd, Maryville (2.9 miles from US 321, on the left). We're also seeing PURPLE FINCH (mostly of the brown variety but a few sub-adult males), WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, CHIPPING SPARROW, SONG SPARROW, GOLDFINCH, CARDINAL, BLUEBIRD, BLUE JAY, CAROLINA WREN, DOWNY WOODPECKER, WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH, CAROLINA CHICKADEE, MORNING DOVE, MOCKING BIRD, etc. Friday and Saturday, Charlie and I went backpacking in the Slickrock Creek Wilderness area (Tapoco Trailhead, Calderwood Lake), much of our trip we walked along the North Carolina--Tennessee Border (Blount Co). Charlie has the list with him right now--he's off on another hike today--so I'm working on memory; highlights included: a first of spring WOOD THRUSH (flew from one state to the other), RAVEN LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH BLACK AND WHITE WARBLER, BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, BLACK-THROATED GREEN (definitely the most common song we heard), BLUE-HEADED VIREO BROAD-WING HAWK BELTED KINGFISHER Tracey Muise Maryville TN Blount Co =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
