Andrew, and others with a similar question: There are 2 books which, in my opinion, every serious birder in Tennessee should try to get. One is the Breeding Bird Atlas, by Chuck Nicholson. It will answer your question about Sedge Wrens, and give you an excellent idea of what birds are expected in different locations. I bought this book within a few months of moving to Tennessee, and have found it extremely valuable, both for finding birds, and for knowing which of my sightings were important. That book is the result of 5 years of intense effort by many of the best birders Tennessee has had to offer. Some folks spent many hundreds of hours in the field specifically for this project. I believe that UT Press has it online. The other is the Robinson's Birds of Tennessee. I'm sorry I don't recall the exact title, but TOS is selling copies right now. I was unfortunately unaware of this book until about a year ago when I bought it. I could have been a better birder had I known about it sooner. I also recommend getting the CD compilation of the TOS journal "The Migrant" which just became available last month. It is great!
