For those who asked The Lewis Pond is listed under the Gallatin section of Michael Bierly's book, "Birdfinding in Tennessee", page 84. For those who do not have the book - on Odom's Bend Road, cross Gallatin Steam Plant Road going east and proceed down the hill. The pond is on on the left (North) just down the hill (clearly shown in the DeLorme atlas page 54). From the road it is a fair distance to the pond, but with a scope, one can at least see if any birds are present. There are extensive mudflats now present. This is private property, the name on the mailbox is still Lewis, but I have no idea if entry to the area can be legally obtained or who one might contact. Paul and Dot Crawford listed many very uncommon birds through the years at this site.
