Nell Moore and I located a late TENNESSEE WARBLER last Thursday (Nov. 23) in Roane County near the Bear Creek Road "swamp" on the Oak Ridge DOE Reservation. Sorry for the late posting. The same day, we also had about 70 Gadwalls there, 3 Amer. Pipits at Kingston Steam Plant, and nearly 100 D-C Cormorants and 13 Bonaparte's Gulls on the Clinch River behind the steam plant. Please NOTE: The ponds on the back side of Kingston Steam Plant are virtually birdless these days and for the foreseeable future. TVA is doing a lot of earth moving and dredging in and around both the large ponds, and the vehicle traffic is loud and heavy. Also, there appears to be a new shooting range constructed nearby (by TVA?), and the continual gunfire does not do much to attract waterfowl!
