There are a few breeding records in the state, as well as other summer
records,
which kind of negates the idea of late spring dates for Spotted Sandpiper.

Another late shorebird seen at the Brainerd Levee this afternoon.
I found a Spotted Sandpiper feeding on the mud flats with about twenty
Killdeers.
The Birds of Tennessee New Annotated Checklist list the Late Spring date
of June 4th 1989, Ensley.
