While out on the deck enjoying the beautiful weather this afternoon, I was visited twice by a female RT humming bird between 4 and 5PM . She perched for a while in an almost leafless Silver Maple on the first visit, then buzzed a spot where I had previously hung a feeder on the second. I rushed to hang a feeder, but haven't seen her since. I'll be checking tomorrow.....I definitely would like to give her the chance to fill her tank before she heads South. This is more than a month past my previous late date for hummers...........what is next, feeders with heaters? John Skaggs Powell, Knox Co.
