I conducted the Petersburg Breeding Bird Survey on June19 and recorded a
Lark Sparrow for the first time in 29 years of running the route. Other
birds of note were 1 Baltimore Oriole and a Warbling Vireo. In contrast, I
recorded no Northern
Bobwhite for the first time. When I first ran this route bobwhite were
very common. Also missed were Dicksissels and Loggerhead shrike.
