We heard both an Eastern Whip-poor-will and Louisiana Waterthrush behind our
house last night. The waterthrush shortly before sunset in a traditional
territory and the whip at dusk in open habitat near a traditional territory.

They show up as “rare” on ebird, but I don’t have Chris Sloan’s and Scott
Somershoe’s Birds of TN book with me to know just how rare these birds are this
time of year.
