[TN-Bird] Kyker Bottoms Birding Saturday

If anyone is interested and able...tomorrow (Saturday, February 16) come join
in some birding at Kyker Bottoms Refuge in Blount County. For directions and

The special occasion is the weekend visit of Charlie, Tracey and Allan Muise!
Many of you will remember them as very active with the Tennessee
Ornithological Society before they moved to Georgia.
Charlie and I will be out there before 7:00 a.m. I realize most don't want to
be out that early (it's a great time to start birding!) so we've set an 8:30
meeting time at the paved parking area at Kyker. Come on down and meet us
there - and we'll tell you about all the great birds you missed because you
weren't there an hour ago :-)
If you want to come earlier, contact me and we can discuss when and where to
meet.
This is a great time of year there for raptors. There should be water in the
wetlands, so ducks and snipe should be present. Loggerhead Shrike and N
Bobwhite are possible too. Early returning Tree Swallows might be present.
Hope to see a good number of birders. Weather looks good for tomorrow.
