We visited Kyker Bottom WMA this morning, mostly the north end via the gate on
Lanier Road, entering about 7:15. Our primary goal was to see the Little Blue
Herons that had been reported during the past several days. After much pushing
through dense tall weeds on berms, 2 flew from a wet sunflower field. We then
saw 1 in a tall dead tree where 6 had been seen earlier this week. The tree
had no herons or egrets when we arrived.
