Carolyn Bullock and I spotted a Krider's Hawk this morning at the pits. We were able to see it at a close distance on two instances; the slightly pinkish barred tail, and white and dark plummage left no doubt. It is easy to believe why Krider's was once thought to be a separate species. The TVA pond held 4 Redheads, 3 Am. Wigeons, 1 lesser Scaup, 4 Ringed- necks, Gadwalls, Shovelers, Mallards, Coots and Pied-billed Grebes along with Cormorants and Ringed-billed Gulls. The only other birds of interests were a lingering Indigo Bunting and 2 Dunlin.
