Out birding for Knoxville CBC today, Dec 30, 2017.
Couple of highlights:
Ross’ Goose (2 individuals, one near Cherokee Country Club, one on river near
UT Plant Sciences)
Greater White-fronted Goose (on river near UT Plant Sciences, could this be
same one reported weeks ago?)
Red-breasted Merganser
Lesser Scaup – river off Lakeshore
Black-crowned Night-Heron
Great Egret – cove between Lyons Bend Rd and Lakeshore
Wild Turkey (19)
Orange-crowned Warbler – coming to suet feeder
+ some gorgeous Swamp Sparrows.

- Comments: "Two separate birds. Photos of 1 between Sequoyah and Cherokee CC.
2nd off UT Plant Sciences with 200 Canada Geese. Dark at that point, but
could see reasonably well with Zeiss. Tiny white goose with rounded head and
stubby bill."

Clearly able to see white front on face. About 2/3 size of the geese it was
