The crow roost in west Knox Co that Andrew wrote about usually forms around Middlebrooke Pike near Third Creek and Richmond Hill (just west of I-640)... Area #7 of the Knoxville CBC circle incidentally. Crows can be seen heading there from all directions near dusk. Earlier this week, I saw 200+ flying across Ft Loudon Lake from Blount Co heading in that direction. A couple years ago I estimated about 7000 birds at the roost on the Knoxville CBC. I thought I might have had a couple Fish Crows then but couldn't be sure. They will roost together. A large mixed crow roost was gathering near our place in Wilmington NC back in November. Incidentally, in the past, there has also been a large crow roost on the east end of town near the Routledge Pike exit on I-40. I haven't been by there at the right time of day to check for it in several years.
