[TN-Bird] KTOS Field Trip-Dec. 3, 2005

Fifteen KTOS members braved the cold and wet weather this past Saturday
morning in the Fort Loudoun and Tellico Dam Reservations and tailwaters
areas and found the following species:
Wood duck
American black duck
Mallard
Gadwall
Lesser scaup?-great distance on reservoir above Tellico Dam
Pied-billed grebe
Horned grebe
Great blue heron
Black vulture-probably 200 plus
Turkey vulture
Bald eagle-2 adults
Cooper's hawk
American kestrel
American coot-great distance across reservoir
Killdeer
Bonaparte's gull
Ring-billed gull
Rock pigeon
Mourning dove
Belted kingfisher
Red-bellied woodpecker
Yellow-bellied sapsucker
Downy woodpecker
Northern flicker
Blue jay
Am. crow
Carolina chickadee
Carolina wren
Winter wren
Golden-cr. kinglet
Ruby-cr. kinglet
E. bluebird
Am. robin-numerous
N. mockingbird
E. starling
Yellow-rumped warbler
E. towhee
Song sparrow
Swamp sparrow
White-thr. sparrow
Dark-eyed junco
N. cardinal
Red-winged blackbird
House finch?
Am. goldfinch
