Thanks to the 23 individuals who came to the birding in Rutherford Co
outing this morning. We even had a couple from Monteagle TN. At the
Discovery Center and were lucky to have a very cooperative Yellow-crowned
Night Heron right up front. Warbling Vireo, and watching Red-bellied
woodpeckers going in and out of their nest holes were the best other birds.
Next out to Lytle Creek and Couch Rds where we had Scissor-tailed
Flycatcher, Loggerhead Shrike, Kingbirds. I had mentioned I had already
been to Lee Rd. This morning in Bedford County before the bird outing and
found the Bobolinks mentioned on Tennesse Birding facebook page the day
before along with Dickcissel. Some of the group decided to head to Bedford
County. I took the rest of the Group to the Nashville racetrack where we
got Lark Sparrow. I then took them up to the Landfill for Grasshopper
Sparrow. There were also singing Dickcissel here, but they were well
hidden. All birds found. Great morning. Thanks to all who came that are not
