Mossy Creek Viewing Area Jefferson County August 3 - 6:30 p.m. I went to Mossy Creek this afternoon, August 3rd, looking for the immature White Ibis found by Michael and Leslie Sledjeski on Saturday. I found a couple of Great Egrets and the Little Blue Heron, and when I had about decided that the ibis had moved on, I spotted it sitting in the top of one of the small dead trees in the vicinity. As I watched, the bird flew down and joined the Little Blue who was busily searching for dinner. They were still feeding when I left at 7:15. A single Great Blue Heron flew over and a kingfisher made several trips over the water. Since I had only a short time to stay, I did not make a list of the other usual birds to be found at the site.
