Spent some time counting for IMBD (Sat, 12 May 2007) in Knox and
Jefferson Counties. Highlights below.

Knox:
-- BANK SWALLOW, 2 at the traditional colony in the mine tailings in
east Knox Co. near East Bridge Industrial Park. This colony may be
waining, only had 3 here on Knox Spring Count, hopefully they were just
off foraging
-- Prairie Warbler, 1 on territory at East Bridge
-- Scarlet Tanager, 2 Summer Tanager at East Bridge where both
species breed
-- Grasshopper Sparrow, 12+ at East Bridge

Jefferson:
-- COMMON LOON, 1 in breeding plumage, Cherokee Dam, getting late
-- Double-crested Cormorant, 2, Cherokee Dam
-- Black-crowned Night-Heron, 1, Cherokee Dam
-- BALD EAGLE, 2 adult, 1 juvenile at nest near Cherokee Dam
-- Killdeer, 9
-- Greater Yellowlegs, 2, Cherokee Dam
-- Lesser Yellowlegs, 14, Cherokee Dam
-- Solitary Sandpiper, 3, New Market farm ponds and Cherokee Dam
-- Spotted Sandpiper, 1, New Market
-- Least Sandpiper, 17, New Market
-- FORSTER'S TERN, 2, Cherokee Dam
-- Eurasian Collared-Dove, 1, New Market at ambulance station,
the usual spot
-- BARN OWL, 1, parents' house, Jefferson City
-- BANK SWALLOW, 25+ at traditional colony in mine tailings in
New Market, making a foraging run to a hay field being mowed,
this colony appears as strong as ever
-- Prothonotary Warbler, 1, beaver lake (too big to be called a
pond) in New Market
-- Grasshopper Sparrow, 1, New Market
-- White-crowned Sparrow, 1, parents' house, Jefferson City
