Wallace

I didn't mean my email as a slam against you - I think you do a great
job. I just didn't know if my emails were getting through to you. I
hope you don't die soon, and I have no reason to believe that you'll
be going do hell when you do. :-) I think you do a great job here.

I started getting emails directly from the list yesterday, August 2.
Meanwhile a couple nice people had forwarded some emails to me.

As for Bert's reply, I'm a bit confused. I believe my full name and
location have always been in my sig?

Ok, now back to what we're all here for - Birds!

3 of the last 6 days I have seen a single (no idea if the same
individual) COMMON RAVEN flying along the US-321/ Little River cut
through mount Chilhowee, which is between Great Smoky MOuntains
National Park and the Foothills Parkway in Blount County. Since I
was driving each time I didn't get great looks at it, but there was
nothing that made me think it was a first-year bird.

At the Tremont MAPS station, many of the local breeders seem to have
moved on. I haven't heard any warbler singing (I have seen several
of the commone, expected species) other than Louisiana Waterthrush
(LOWA) in over a week. I haven't caught any warbler other than first
year LOWA in the last 2 banding days. Hummer numbers are up and
percentage of those with red gorgets is significantly down. Phoebes
are now done with all the 12 or so nests I am aware of around
Tremont. I guess I need to check out some shorebird habitat real
soon!

Good day!

Charlie
