Ensley Bottoms (The Pits)

Jeff called and has a nice male Hudsonian Godwit in fine plumage feeding at
the Pits. It's staying in the big central pit. Otherwise, not much but Semi
Sands though. No White-rumps yet today, and no Whistling-Ducks.

McKenzie area (Henry & Carroll Co)

I made a brief run around my local area this morning, with quality making up
for quantity. I did not have a single species of transient warbler today. I
checked the spots I get occasional Mourning or Connecticut, but no luck.
However, flycatchers made up for it. I had two Olive-sided's in view at the
same time, in the same tree. One of them spent most of it's time on wires
though. This was in southwest Henry Co. In the Obion River Bottom outside
McKenzie (Carroll Co) , I had a calling Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, which
finally gave me a quick look. Willow Flycatcher is also back in this same
bottom, where they are quite regular this time of year.

Last but not least, I had a calling Black-billed Cuckoo, which refused to be
seen. Ironically, it 1st called in response to a Least Bittern recording I
was playing for the cattail area across the road. It gave 3 nice, long
series of calls, but never moved to where I could see it. I have had
Black-billed in this same bottom at least once before. Otherwise, only other
transient was a Veery and a Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and then 3 Semipalmated
Sandpipers in a small wet area of a corn field.

I've added 5 shots from today, most of Olive-sided Flycatchers (bad light
though): the 1st new image starts here:
