According to http://www.tn.gov/twra/pdfs/wmaseasons.pdf , page 19, there will
be muzzleloader deer hunts at the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge at Birchwood in
Meigs County on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday October 24-26 and on October
31-November 2. Therefore, I did not go to the HWR viewing area this morning. At
the Cherokee Removal Memorial Park (Meigs County) I saw one adult and one
immature bald eagle. Hundreds of coots were present on the Rhea County side of
the Tennessee River near a dock.

The only other particularly noteworthy sighting of the morning was a group of
10 turkey vultures that appeared to be kettling before they flew south. I saw
these at home in Birchwood (Hamilton County).
