[TN-Bird] Herring Gulls - Blount

Got out a bit Sat afternoon (6 Dec) and hit a few spots looking
for some recently reported birds around Knox and Blount Co, TN.
Best birds on the day were 3 Herring Gulls (1 adult, 2 1st-winter)
at Louisville Point Park in Blount Co.


Baum Lake, Knox Co.:
Am Black Duck, 1
Ring-necked Duck, 1 
a few Mallard mutts
several Canada Geese
(no sign of the Ross's Goose or Cackling Goose)


Lackey Creek, Louisville, Blount Co.:
Canada Goose, 200+
Wood Duck, ~10
Mallard, few
Green-winged Teal, 3
Hooded Merganser, 30+
Great Blue Heron, 4+
Great Egret, 1
Killdeer, 20+
Bonaparte's Gull, 1
Ring-billed Gull, 50+
(no sign of Sandhill Cranes, snipe or peeps Warren Bielenberg had
on Friday but lots of places they could hide)


Louisville Point Park, Blount Co.:
Mallard, few
scaup sp, 1 young, dark male too far to be sure but 'felt' like a
    Greater, large, broad bill
Ruddy Duck, 1 male
Common Loon, 1
Pied-billed Grebe, 15-20
Great Blue Heron, few
Black-crowned Night-Heron, at least 2 at marina
Am Coot, 40+
Killdeer, 1
Bonaparte's Gull, 40+
Ring-billed Gull, ~500
HERRING GULL, 1 adult, 2 1st-winter (uncommon in Knoxville area)
Brown-headed Nuthatch, several
(no sign of Surf Scoter from last week's KTOS trip)
