Upon further review, a sparrow we struggled to get a positive ID on yesterday we have now determined is Savannah. The bird returned and the better light quality today and a better photo of it helped us confirm it. So that makes an unprecedented NINE sparrow day for our yard, and it is also new yard bird for us, number 127. We knew the Indigo Bunting was early, but hadn't realized just quite HOW early it was. Last year's yard date was in mid April. From the looks of the bird, it probably should have waited those extra weeks before coming... it looks poofy and unwell, but better than yesterday at least.
