Earlier this week I heard a rumor that a hawk had attacked a lady near Chattanooga State. Several of us were monitoring a red-shoulder nest in the area and so I went today to talk to the administrators at Chattanooga state and yes the rumor IS true. A lady was attacked earlier this week while she was unknowingly walking near the tree that the red-shoulder hawks have a nest in. During my questioning I learned that they (the hawks) had attacked a man who works for Olan Mills in the same area three years ago. The lady received a scratch near her eye, the man had to get several stitches. If anyone "official" needs more information, I have it.
