Harpeth River Greenway/Morton Mill Rd. Lake Davidson Co., TN 2014 May 4 This Sunday morning I did my usual walk up Harpeth River Greenway from the parking lot on Old Harding Road. As I retraced my steps I heard a SWINSON'S WARBLER singing loudly and repeatedly next to the Harpeth River past the deck. I walked a bit on the dirt path next to the river, but was unable to see it in the deep cover. Other nice bird of the morning was a LINCOLN'S SPARROW at the far end of my walk. The lake water level is still too high for wading and shorebirds. Maybe the heat this week will evaporate some of the water.
