Thanks for the report. It inspired Debbie and Myself to work on our Grundy
County list today. We picked up five more species: Ruddy Duck (female) and Red
Breasted Nuthatch at Big Creek Public Area; Gadwall at George Clay Road farm
pond; Ring-neck Duck (male) at Bell’s Mill Road and Merlin at Bell’s Cove Road.
List can be found on e-Bird..
Also note that Lake Laurel, Monteagle is in Marion County..

TN birders,
Spent 4.5 hours midday several days ago, and just now have had time to report.
However, I thought with the increased interest in county birding, some might be
interested in the places I found productive, and were new for me. Highlight
included:
Lake Laurel, Monteagle
Pied-bill Grebe-2
Winter Wren-hrd
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Hermit Thrush-hrd
Big Creek Public Area
Ruddy duck-f
Brown-headed nuthatch-2
Littell Lake, Tracy City

Great blue heron
Littell Road, Tracy City
Yellow-bellied sapsucker
Purple finch-m
Big Fiery Gizzard Reservoir
Pied-bill grebe
Glen Oak Circle
Yellow-rumped warbler-only one of day
Managed 10 new ones for the county, 8 of which were winter birds which was the
point of the trip. Total specie was 32..Still shy of the century mark by 6.
