The last 3 weeks have been the best for migrating birds of any other fall
period in the 14 years we have lived here. We have seen these warblers -
Kentucky, Yellow, Hooded (was here for 2 weeks), Yellow-throated, Blue-winged,
Black and White, Worm-eating, Prairie (second time seen in our yard and this
beautiful mature one was kind enough to sit at eye level in a tree just a few
feet from the deck and give us wonderful views), Chestnut-sided, American
Redstart, Common Yellowthroat, Pine, Yellow-breasted Chat, Canada (took a
bath), Northern Parula, Black-throated Green, Tennessee, Bay-breasted,
Blackburnian. Vireos were Red-eyed, White-eyed, and Yellow-throated. Summer
and Scarlet Tanagers seen several days. This morning a Swainson's Thrush and
a Veery gave us eye level looks and the summer resident Biue-gray Gnatcatchers
and Eastern Wood Peewee were joined be a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher.
