I birded with my brother Craig and his daughter Shelley for several hours today in and around Emerts Cove in Pittman Center. We saw a first fall female GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER in with a mixed flock of warblers, along with three Philadelphia Vireos. There were lots of Scarlet Tanagers, 3 Summer Tanagers, plus the usual migrants. This is my first GWWA in Sevier County. And surprisingly, my brother called later from my sister's house in Powdermill, just a couple of ridges away from here and he and Shelley found 4 more GWWA!!! Keith Watson Pittman Center, TN
