Margaret Mann called at dusk this evening, February 5, to advise that she has a golden eagle roosting on a tree at the edge of her yard. She said it is an immature, based on the white base of its tail feathers. She lives on the bank of the Cumberland River in the Donelson area of Davidson County, Tennessee. She had called me two winters ago, when she had two adult golden eagles roosting in her yard for one night only. They are the only golden eagle sightings she has had there since 1965, when she joined the Nashville chapter of the TOS and became an avid backyard birder from the vantage point of her sundeck and patio.
