Yesterday, we went to my parent's house for a cookout in Tunnel Hill, GA (Catoosa County). While we were at the table pigging out, we kept hearing this strange clinking sound coming from the flourescent lights in the garage. I looked out the door window and saw a frantic little bird trying to get back outside by slapping up against the ceiling. It was a male Yellow-rumped Warbler. He was above the open garage door, so he could not see the way out when he looked down. This went on for about 5 more minutes, which gave me time to grab a pair of garden gloves. He finally wore himself out and landed on a wall shelf. I gently picked him up and took him outside. He sat on my finger for a second or two, looking at me as if to say, "Whew!.... Thanks!". Then flew off to join his friends in the trees. What a pretty little bird. The yellow under his wings is so bright, you don't realize it unless you are that close. I did my good deed for the day!
