R&K
For several years, my ex has had at least one Very Bold Thrasher picking
around beneath his front-yard sunflower feeder with the cardinals,
towhees, and white-throated sparrows. The feeder is perhaps 10 feet from
a fenceline of tall, dense mock orange, forsythia, and boxwood, where
the thrashers and towhees have nested for several years. The area is
enclosed by various deciduous trees and a blue spruce, and seems not as
often subject to hawk predation as his backyard feeder. Now that the
lower branches of the spruce have been trimmed, I wonder if the thrasher
will be less bold this year...

Happy holiday birds,

For a wek now we have had a very bold brown thrasher at the suet feeder
and
picking up scaps below it, and perched on the seed feeders. Great to see
this
bold eyed fellow out in the open so mcu.
