The Vermilion Flycatcher was still at Oneal Lake today! Three of us from
Clarksville (Steve and Debbie Hamilton, Barbara Wilbur) arrived at Hatchie
Wildlife Refuge a few minutes before 11:00 a.m. and the Vermilion was
conveniently sitting in a small tree almost directly across from the
headquarters building near the pavilions. He flew twice to finally land for
several minutes on one of the pavilions with the light so perfect on him that
he glowed red. After observing him for a few minutes, he appeared to fly off
across the road and to the left of the headquarters building NEVER to be seen
again (even though we stayed and looked all around the lake until 2 p.m.).

(Steve and Debbie Hamilton, Barbara Wilbur) arrived at Hatchie a few minutes
before 11:00 a.m. and the Vermilion was conveniently sitting in a small tree a
across from but a little beyond the headquarters building. Shortly after being
sighted it flew to the peak of the smallest/fartherest pavilion; then it flew
down and perched on a crossbar beneath the pavilion roof. From there it flew
back to a tree almost directly across from the headquarters building. After
providing us with great views at that location it appeared to fly off across
the road and to the left of the headquarters building NEVER to be seen again
(even though we stayed and looked all around the lake until 2 p.m.).
