I was asked about the birds I reported from the UT Plant Science Farm and I should have been more clear in the original email. The farm is still OFF-LIMITS to the public, ESPECIALLY this time of year when they are spraying the fields. KTOS has special arrangement with the caretaker to visit the farm only for the Knoxville CBC and the Knox Co Spring and Fall Bird Counts. The farm is on a penninsula that sticks out into Ft Loudon Lake. We pulled the jetski into the cove between the UTPSF and Sky Ranch airport that goes under Alcoa Hwy to IC King Park. We heard the birds calling from there. So we were just within earshot of the UTPSF, not on the farm property.
