Today we decided to visit Frozen Head Sate Park- Morgan County hoping to see a few early wildflowers & migrants. Happy to say we scored on both counts... Blood root was blooming & trilliums were getting close. Sighted a yellow-throated warbler singing near the stream before we even got to the park entrance. Took the South Mac trail to the look-out tower (7 mi. round trip). Heard & saw many black-throated green warblers (one near the ridge crest was spotted 10 ft. away!), as well as blue-headed vireos. In fact, there were so many black-throated green warblers, that we decided to carefully count on the trip back. Total count in 3.5 miles: 38 !!!
