Good Saturday morning birders...hope this email finds you all well. We had an opportunity to get out and about yesterday for some birding with Steve's folks, JoAnne and Larry Routledge, who were visiting with us for the Thanksgiving holiday. We acted as tour guide and took them over to Paris Landing, Eagle Creek/Port Rd/ Trailer Rd and Britton Ford and we were not disappointed. We had 45 species in total. Highlights included 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS perched on stumps at Eagle Creek, a great look at perched RED-SHOULDERED HAWK on a fence post just off the road to Britton Ford, good looks at a hunting NORTHERN HARRIER at Britton Ford, an immature and mature BALD EAGLE eating at Paris Landing and 19 different species of waterfowl at Britton Ford which included large rafts of MALLARDS, CANVAS BACKS, HOODED MERGANSERS, BUFFLEHEADS AND GADWALLS. We also saw our first REDHEAD and GOLDENEYES of the season there as well. We were happy to see water levels were up a bit since last weekend, thanks to the rains of this week. It was a chilly day but as always great fun! Happy birding, Steve and Cyndi Routledge Clarksville, TN "When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world." ~John Muir =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
