Ed Manous' Franklin's Gulls apparently continued their southward journey. At
5:30 p.m., we found no gulls of any species at Kingston Steam Plant in Roane
County off I-40, Exit 350. There were a few Dunlin, one male Hooded Merganser,
and several sandpipers that we did not try to identify in the dimming light at
that distance.
