35 birders came out today for the final Radnor Lake Wednesday morning walk
of the season. It was a breezy but productive day. Most notable was the
Yellow-bellied Flycatcher found at the dam by Frank Fekel and subsequently
enjoyed by everyone in the large group. We had 10 species of Warblers
including a very vocal Ovenbird who was chasing a Gray Catbird for quite
some time near long bridge and about half the group heard a Red-breasted
Nuthatch but we were never able to locate it along the lake¹s edge. Other
FOS birds for most were Brown Creeper, Winter Wren and Yellow-bellied
Sapsucker. We ended the day with 52 species seen and or heard. Many
thanks to Steve Routledge for leading the group this morning and to new and
old friends who come out and support this wonderful NTOS effort.
