Tue. (9-14) 0915-1300
Clinch Mtn overlook, US25
Grainger Co. TN

Observers: (4) Ben, Phine, Orland Britton and Buela McGhee

The birds were scattered through out the day, sounds pretty much like the
Mendota season has gone. The largest kettle (8 BW and the sharpshin) occurred
at noon. The sharpy dived on one of the broad-wings a couple of times to give
us a great size comparison. The adult Bald Eagle came up right over the parking
lot and gave us a great look, before he/she headed on down the ridge. I have
included my e-bird report with some locals and migrants both.

The empidonax gave us a few good looks with a strong eye-ring and wing bars,
shorter wings, grayish head, yellowish sides. I would lean toward an Acadian,
but it was "very, very, quiet".
