I walked the trails yesterday (Friday, Oct. 13, 2017) from 1:30-3:30 pm at
Bell's Bend Park in northwestern Davidson County. Among other birds, I saw what
I believe to be a savannah sparrow and a pine siskin. Directions to the sites
of observation are as follows: For the sparrow, walk about 200 meters down the
main trail in back of the outdoor center and turn left on the trail leading to
the old farm pond. The sparrow was on the ground of the trail at the edge of
the thick brambles about 100 meters after turning left. The pine siskin was one
of a flock of about four located in the big trees near the archery range beside
the outdoor center.
