Hi Meredith
Synchronicity: check out this report (with photo) of a gimongous yellowjacket
nest that occupies almost the entire interior of an old Chevy (a lot of you
will NOT be happy to see this, but I think it's cool).

THANK YOU LIZ!! My sentiments exactly. We coexist quite well with wasps.
Since our doors are open and no screens most of the summer, we even have
dirtdaubers in the house. They like to get behind the kitchen cabinets. We
often find them frantically buzzing around a window or glass door trying to
get out if for some reason a door gets closed. So we escort them out and
allis well. They are quite pleasant and we just make room for each other.
Irarely destroy yellow jackets nests, though I agree they kind of ask for
it. I just flag the nest and just give them some space. Usually the skunks
or whatever dig them up for me.

It's really no big deal and makes life pretty interesting.
