We had our FOS White-throated Sparrow eating seed on the ground this morning; the earliest one since we've lived here. It was a cold morning but lots of birds: Tennessee, Orange-crowned, Black-throated Green, Bay-breasted, and Nashville Warblers; Grey-cheeked Thrush; 2 Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers; Northern Flicker; Summer and Scarlet Tanagers; Orchard Oriole; 2 Eastern Wood Peewees in addition to our resident one, who drove them out of the yard as soon as he spotted them; several Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and Indigo Buntings. We also still have a couple dozen Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. It has been a good week with Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Yellow, Pine, Common Yellowthroat, Magnolia, Chestnut-sided, American Redstart, Ovenbird, and Blue-winged Warblers; Swainson's Thrush; Eastern Phoebe;Yellow-throated, Red-eyed, and White-eyed Vireos.
