The Eurasian collared dove returned for breakfast around 7:30 this morning and is now here eating dinner for which it came at 5 P.M . here in the Charlotte Park section of West Nashville. Oops, it was just "spooked" for the second time and flew into the hackberry tree. It left a couple of minutes after its evening arrival, but came back. I've sure enjoyed seeing it for the past two days and wonder if it is going to be a "keeper." The hummingbirds have been filling up all day, and their little bellies are obviously full and sticking out like "beer guts." Maybe they know the rain is coming and are planning to fly out tonight ahead of the front. I will sure miss them when they have all migrated. I've read several reports of ruby-throats still being seen up north, so, hopefully, there are more to travel through here. Happy birding, Dee Thompson Nashville, RN ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
