Ensley Bottoms
Shelby Co. TN

I spent an hour, late Friday, looking through probably the largest number of
Pectoral Sandpipers that I've ever seen in the Spring at Ensley. Counting
was impossible as a female Kestrel and 2 Harriers kept the birds rolling in
the
air. Lesser Yellowlegs numbers were also up. The rains were rolling in and
the wind was hustling, hopefully this front will drop more birds in tonight
and hold those that are already there.

In the mix, I found a single, small male Wilson's Phalarope, just starting
to molt into its subdued breeding plumage. While taking a few photos of this
FOS bird in dropped 7 Stilt Sandpipers, all still pretty drab, also FOS. I'm
sure there will be more to look through tomorrow and something has to be
hiding
in that mob
Good Birding !!!

What is this feathered thing that lifts my heart to the heavens.
