TN Birders,

Yesterday (8/1) as I drove out of my driveway in rural Anderson County (~25 mi.
NW of Knoxville) I was surprised by the conspicuous presence of a Cattle Egret
standing a few feet from my bumper. Having never seen one in the area before,
I was a bit taken aback. Is this an unusual sighting? My old Peterson's
doesn't show them being here. Sibley shows them present during migration (Aug.
1?). Any thoughts?

Thanks.
