Well I got my birthday wish a day early this year. While at the Loudoun Dam this morning investigating Charlie's cat feeding mystery, I went by the "swallow" boxes at Loudoun and Tellico dams and both had TREE SWALLOWS ! ! 5-6 males in each area at least. They weren't there on Tuesday. Gee whiz , there's just not much that's more cheerful than their soft chortling and to see that brilliant flashing of green and white. Been smilin' ever since. Who needs a cake?!
