Wilson's Phalarope is on my Rutherford County list, unfortunately many of my
records hit the trash when we downsized and moved south, so I don't have
specific dates for the sightings. As best I remember, one bird was seen at
Todd's Lake in a year that the lake was drained, and another in the flooded
fields near what is now Veteran's Parkway. These records were both well before
ebird was started.
My county list looks like it will end peacefully at 247
Cheers

Eagleville Sod Farms, Rutherford County:
I had a Wilson’s Phalarope at the Eagleville Sod Farms around 530p. It would
move between the east and west field when it flushed (hawk, loud vehicles).
The bird was seen until dark. It appears this might be the first record for
Rutherford County in ebird?
Just a reminder:
I created a Telegram group “Tennessee Birders” that allows its members to share
instant, real time sightings of birds that are rare, unusual or hard to find.
Messages sent and received are similar to receiving a text. This is not
intended to be used to share common sightings.
If you would like to join:
- Download the Telegram app from the Google Play or Apple App Store
- Create an account using your real name (first and last). Nicknames or
single names will be removed from the group.
- Use this link to join the group:

Rules:
- Report only rare, unusual or hard to find birds.
- Keep messages short and to the point: species, location, details. (You
may also include a photo)
- If you look for a reported bird and do not locate it, share that as well.
- If you need more information from the poster, message them directly using
the private chat feature.
- Refrain from unnecessary chat. Again – you may contact the poster if
necessary.
- Be respectful.
