Two hot hours at Eagle Lake WMA (Shelby County, bank of Ole Man River)  
produced the following:
 
Anhinga - 1
great blue heron - 12
great egret - 325
snowy egret - 1
little blue heron - 40
cattle egret - 8
green heron - 1
mallard - 2
Mississippi kite - 1
golden plover - 1
semipalmated plover - 1
killdeer - 450
black-necked stilt - 24
lesser yellowlegs - 3
solitary sandpiper - 1
least sandpiper - 12
Baird sandpiper - 2
pectoral sandpiper - 55
unidentified sandpiper - many
mourning dove - 1
barred owl - 1
chimney swift - 14
ruby-throated hummingbird - 2
downy woodpecker - 1
Acadian flycatcher - 1
yellow-bellied flycatcher - 1
rough-winged swallow - 20
barn swallow - 1
Carolina wren - 3
blue-gray gnatcatcher - 3
e bluebird - 1
mockingbird - 2
white-eyed vireo - 1
yellowthroat - 1
summer tanager - 1
indigo bunting - 40
dickcissel - 1
red-winged blackbird - 22
grackle - 1
goldfinch - 5
 
Prize bird of the day was a piebald little blue heron, a sight to really  set 
the focus wheel spinning.
